2008 Mercedes C63 AMG Review

In April of 2008, Mercedes introduced the C63 AMG which had the power and luxury that we have come to expect from Mercedes. This vehicle was exactly what everyone was wanting and its popularity was high in vehicle demand.

It is built with a 6.3 liter V8 engine that is able to produce 451 horsepower and 443 pound ft of torque. The aluminum 32 valve V8 is outfitted with variable valve timing and a variable intake manifold that gives it the ability to race over 7,000 rpm. The engine will be able to send the power to the rear wheels through a seven speed automatic transmission that is able to be shifted manually through the gearshift and steering wheel paddles. It will be able to rev from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds.

The C63 AMG also comes with stiffer springs and shocks, a stiffer front stabilizing bar, modified speed sensitive steering, and 1.4 inch wider front track that gives drivers better handling. Engineers have redesigned the five link rear suspension and track is now 0.5 inches wider.

With the vehicle is a Performance Package that gives the car stiffer suspension settings than it already has, limited slip differential, two piece perforated and ventilated front disc brakes, and AMG steering wheel that is covered with Nappa leather.

The exterior of the C63 has been given a dual power dome hood, chrome ringed fog lights, front fascia with slightly larger air intakes as well as side air outlets, rear lip spoiler, rear apron with black air diffuser, and twin tailpipes.

On the inside of the vehicle you can see and feel the luxury that it offers without losing the sporty edge. It is built with leather sport seats, AMG specific instrument cluster, three spoke sport steering wheel with aluminum paddle shifters, and a menu on the dashboard screen. This menu will let drivers see the coolant and oil temperatures and be able to chance the shift modes for the transmission.
